Vallejo Matinees Cancelled

Dear CHHA Members

Due to years of thoroughbred use Vallejo's surface has some 'soft' spots around the track. During the break we worked  with our track crew along with Vallejo's people and were unable to fix the 'soft' spots. We have contacted Cal Expo and requested that the matinees/qualifiers be held at Cal Expo on Tuesday September the 9th. We feel it prudent to cancel the matinees next Monday at Vallejo so as not to put any horse in a compromising situation. Cal Expo is in the process of switching the track over from thoroughbreds to harness. If Cal Expo is able to get the track in good and safe condition then we will qualify on Tuesday the 9th. The CHHA is still going to stand behind the bonus program that we announced for Vallejo the only change will be the venue. We will keep you posted via our web site and through email.
