Cal Expo Increases Saturday Night Late Pick 4 Pool Guarantee By 50%

Cal Expo has announced that beginning this Saturday, April 2, the Late Pick 4 guaranteed gross pool has been increased by 50 percent to $15,000.

Both the Early and Late Pick 4’s on Saturday feature a reduced takeout of 15 percent, with a winner’s bonus payout of 17.65 percent on the Late Pick 4 to winning tickets that are purchased on track at Cal Expo or on TwinSpires.com.

“We are increasing the guarantee because of the overwhelming support and success of the Late Pick 4 promotion on Saturday nights,” said Cal Expo Director of Racing Dave Elliott. “The Cal Expo/Twin Spires promotion has produced an average handle increase of 37 percent and has resulted in bonus payouts approaching $10,000 since the promotion began on November 27, 2010.

“Our players have shown by their increased wagering that they approve of the Late Pick 4 promotion and we are hopeful the interest and handle on this wager will continue to grow as a result of increasing the guarantee by 50 percent, keeping the takeout at a 15 percent rate and offering the bonus payouts for those who wager at Cal Expo or on TwinSpires.com.”
