

Sacramento, CA --- An economic stimulus package is being offered
to California Standardbred breeders in 2010 with bonus payments in
2011 for successful production of Cal-sired Standardbred foals. The
one-time “breeders bonus” of $1,500 per foal is designed to boost
the 2011 crop of potential harness racing athletes.
To become eligible for the breeder bonus, an owner must register the
broodmare(s) with the California Sires Stakes program by July 1 for
$25 or September 1 for $50. To receive the breeder bonus, owners
need to submit official USTA registration for the offspring between
July 1 and Dec. 31, 2011.
