A $3,441 Super High 5 carryover is on tap at Cal-Expo on Thursday
night (June 3), with the pool expected to reach $12,500 by the time
the starting car rolls away.
The Super High 5 is a $1 minimum bet that is decided on the 10th
race each evening and challenges players to predict the first five
finishers across the line. Racing secretary Fred Kuebler
attempts to put the most contentious race in this spot, with the
result often being some huge payoffs.
Looking at Thursday’s Super High 5 race, a field of nine claiming
trotters will do battle and a solid case can be made for many in the
line-up. Edgar Allen Coe figures to have his share of
supporters, as this 7-year-old son of Website is coming off a
runner-up effort at this level for owner/trainer Rick Cisco and
regular pilot Luke Plano.
One of the main rivals figures to be Pureform Prophet, a 6-year-old
gelding who carries the banner of Calvin Nyuli with Bob Johnson the
conditioner and Jim Lackey giving directions. He is coming off
a victory over a notch softer after being parked to the lead past
the quarter and then rating nicely to prevail by a length over Mr.
Me, who will be among his foes once again.
